Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library 4 hours, 17 minutes ago Theodore Roosevelt is one of the most intriguing and influential figures in our nation’s history.
Still, many people today may not be aware that this great man reshaped the presidency, fought for the national parks we cherish today, and led a life filled with endless adventure.
That’s just one reason why the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is so passionate about constructing this “living building” in the Badlands that will explore the life, legacy, and enduring relevance of the 26th President. Together, we will learn from—not about—TR as…
… one of youngest and most dynamic Presidents in White House history. Theodore Roosevelt’s Square Deal program championed fairness across American society—including breaking up trusts and monopolies, conserving natural resources, and protecting consumers.
… a highly motivated public servant. From our 26th President to New York City police commissioner and assistant secretary of the Navy, Theodore Roosevelt’s vigorous approach to public service reshaped the role of government in American life, making him a symbol of strength, integrity, and progressive change.
… the “Father of Conservation.” Through a lifelong barrage of policy and legislation, Roosevelt turned America’s wild landscape into its most enduring treasure. As President, he helped establish 150 national forests through the United States Forest Service (USFS) as well as oversaw the creation of 51 federal bird reserves, four national game preserves, and five national parks.
Upon completion, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library will be a state-of-the-art, interactive museum and library which will uphold our 26th President’s exceptional legacy and inspire visitors from around the world to dare greatly, think boldly, live passionately, and care deeply—just like TR—for generations to come.
While the project is under construction, President, we invite you to learn more about one of the most intriguing figures in our nation’s history on our website, then head over to the Quizzes Page to test your knowledge.
And be sure to sign up to receive a limited-time Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library gift as our way of saying “thank you” for being part of the effort to bring the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library to life!
With gratitude,
Robbie Lauf
