Much of civic reporting depends on public records: agency releases, court dockets, statutes, and official statements. The Americans .US! treats those materials as sources—not as content we pretend to invent.
Our approach
- Identify the source — when we quote or summarize an official release, we say so.
- Add context — we explain why a filing or announcement matters to ordinary readers.
- Link out when possible — readers should be able to check primary materials.
- Separate opinion — analysis and commentary are presented as interpretation, not as a court order or statute.
What we do not do
We do not paste third-party pages without curation and expect that to count as original journalism. We do not strip watermarks and call scraped video “ours.” Community posts remain community posts. That discipline is how we stay useful—and how we stay honest with readers and partners.
